Public Company Information:

DELRAY BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Office Depot (NYSE:ODP), a leading global provider of office products and services, today announced the debut of Foray® writing instruments, now available for the first time in Europe. Customers in countries throughout Europe where Office Depot and Viking are present can now purchase the exclusive line of Foray writing instruments.

Customers who have already tried Foray products have been impressed by their quality, performance and style and we expect the launch will be a great success across Europe, said Dirk Collin, Executive Vice President and Managing Director Europe for Office Depot.

To determine the products which best meet European customer needs, an assortment review was conducted and 51 skus of Foray writing instruments were selected. The new assortment includes pens, mechanical pencils and highlighters as well as permanent and white board markers. Products are available in a variety of colors, styles and pack sizes.

The Foray products were developed for customers who prefer a higher quality product and have definite preferences when it comes to choosing their ideal writing instrument - whether they enjoy the comfort of writing with a padded, soft-touch grip, or desire to write with precision using an ultra fine-point ballpoint pen, said Detlef Hentzel, Office Depots European Category Director for General Office Supplies & Filing. Office Depot offers a large variety of options for our small- and large- business customers and we are confident that they will find their ideal writing instrument among the expanded assortment.

The premium Foray writing instruments are available for contract customers and direct customers, and can also be purchased at retail locations where available.

Office Depot launched the Foray product line in the U.S. in 2004. The line has recently been updated and redesigned for its European debut with vibrant colors and new appealing packaging.

The launch is the first in a series of product additions designed to bring a wider assortment of Office Depots exclusive products to European customers.
